NOAH Hulett continued his hot streak on the cross country trail for East Jackson, running a 17:42 Thursday at Oglethorpe County’s Patriot races to finish fifth overall.
The Eagles finished eighth out of 15 teams.
Hulett was the only Eagle to run a sub-18 or sub-19 team. Quenton Rice was second on the squad with a 19:22 (44th overall). Vladik Staples ran a 19:23 (47th). Tyler Cone (63rd, 19:46) and Bobby Halks (83rd, 20:30) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.
Jackson County finished one slot below the Eagles in the team standings.
The Panthers were led by another sub-18 time from J.T. Wood, who finished ninth overall with a 17:52. Jackson County’s remaining four scorers all broke 20 minutes with Trevin Sweat running a 19:23 (46th), Bryce Hughes finishing with a 19:53 (67th), Anthony Allen posting a 19:53 (69th) and Cory Ramey running a 19:58 (73rd).
The Jefferson boys finished 11th, led by Josh Reid (35th, 19:04). He was followed by Pate Sheppard (56th, 19:35), Andrew Ocock (60th, 19:430, Zach Parrish (74th, 20:02) and Chandler Stephenson (77th, 20:09).
