The Winder-Barrow High School competition cheerleaders have a strong history of excellence.
The program, with multiple state titles to its name, turned in a strong effort Saturday at Loganville High School. The Cheer Doggs were second only after a dropped co-ed stunt, coach Jerrie Hulsey said. WBHS was still only nine points behind Peachtree Ridge High School.
“We did awesome,” Hulsey said. “For the first time, the squad looked like a championship team. The gym was screaming for them. We maxed out on all difficulty points. We lost points in stunting because of a drop and we had a bobble in pyramid and lost points in pyramids. The kids just looked 10,000 times better.”
