The volleyball varsity squad finishes their campaign with an 11-17 overall record and a 5-7 region mark including the tournament play. Christina Hart, one of six seniors, completes her high school career with the honor of being named to the 8-AAAA All-Region First Team.
The volleyball Raider seniors are Ashlyn Blalock, Julia Garcia, Savannah Mainland, Emily Smith, Torie Teets and Hart.
“Of all the teams I have coached, never have I witnessed such a unity and leadership amongst a group as I did with these seniors,” said Coach Kristen Delay. “These girls made the commitment early on as they attended open gym all summer and set an example of hard work and dedication for the underclassmen. Each one of these seniors brought unique talents and abilities to the program that will be impossible to replace or replicate. The success of the team began with the leadership of these six young women and continued as their work ethic and positive attitudes spread to the rest of the team,” said Delay.
Coach Delay is assisted by Suzanne Howard, who serves as the junior varsity coach.
