Dotson, Rogan lead AHS runners

Even without top runner Will Morgan who was out because of an injury, the Apalachee High School boys cross country team finished fifth among 15 teams at Oglethorpe County Saturday.

“We were ahead of fellow region teams Cedar Shoals and Loganville and one place behind Clarke Central,” said coach Alex Holmes.

Junior Erick Dotson ran a personal best Saturday in 18:42 as did junior Jacob Stanley (18:42) and sophomore Chandler Campell (18:36).

The AHS JV boys finished second overall paced by sophomore Jeremy Dyal, who finished third overall individually in 19:33.

The Lady Wildcats finished 6th out of 10 in front of region foe Cedar Shoals.

Freshman Madison Rogan finished seventh overall and was a medalist for the third time this season. She finished third among all freshman girls.

Freshman Casey Todd took 14th overall with a time of 22:21. Freshman. Skylar Rogan finished 28th overall with a time of 23:27.

The AHS teams will compete at the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational hosted by Heritage High School at the International Horse Park in Conyers this Saturday.
