BCA set to begin region schedule

The running back position has been an issue for the Knights after injuries have forced them to go very deep on their depth chart. Graham Doolittle received praise for helping carry most of the offensive load last Friday. The sophomore also played a key role defensively for BCA in its initial win.

“David Emanuel is a good football team and a tough region opener,” said Knights offensive coordinator Lance Fendley. “They run a power I offense, but run the option out of it. Coach (Andy) Woodard is a good football coach, he comes from good programs and will have his team ready to play. Defensively, they run a 3-5 defense and have a really big defensive line that they rely on to get pressure in the back field. This will be a good test for our first region game.”

Friday will be the first in a six-game stretch (including a bye week) for the BCA team as they play a region schedule for the first time. Other region foes include John Hancock, Curtis Baptist, Dawson Street, Nathanael Greene and Thomas Jefferson.

As in past seasons, Thomas Jefferson is the favorite to win Region 1-A.
