Landers wins Barrow Journal football contest

Allysa Landers of Winder won the Barrow Journal football contest for Sept. 19 edging two other contestants on the tiebreaker.

Landers correctly predicted winners in 11 of the 12 games listed along with Sandra Ledbetter and William Wells. A total of 82 points were scored in the Apalachee vs. Gainesville game and Landers forecast 62 points to win.

Those contestants correctly picking 10 wins were Eddie Wallace, Ricky Davis, Tommy Thompson, Donald Landers, Jimmie Shedd, Pam Yarbrough, John Sheats, Kenneth Parker, Marvin Ledbetter, Julia Duane, Steve Taylor and Kris Hoerler.

Those with nine correct included Mike Murphy (the previous week’s winner), John Landers, Tiffany Cooper, Deborah Cooper, Randy Franklin, Tate Sheats, Ray Lee, Luke Sheats, Tim Husk, Sally Brown, Mary Page and Louise Etheridge.

See page 5B in the Sept. 26 print edition for the new football contest. The winner earns a $50 prize.
