The Winder-Barrow High School softball team did what it had to do Tuesday night and is now two wins away from advancing to the state tournament.
WBHS defeated Cedar Shoals 11-1 in an opening game of the Region 8-AAAAA tournament. The win means the Lady Bulldoggs will face Apalachee High School on the road for a best-of-three series with games set for Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. A third game, if necessary, would be Saturday at noon, also at AHS.
While it took a few innings for WBHS to get on track Tuesday night, coach Monty McClure said there could have been several factors involved.
