Madison County drops road game in heart-breaking fashion

With the game tied 7-7 with 2:26 to go, Madison County converted on fourth down, setting up a first and goal at the eight. But Lanier recovered a fumble on the next play and scampered 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the Raiders' 14-7 road loss.


Madison County (0-4) turned in its best defensive effort of the year Friday. The Raiders forced numerous turnovers and led 7-0 at the half, thanks to a touchdown run by quarter T.J. Skelton following a Lanier interception.

The Raiders will host Eastside next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
