Former East Jackson football players have helped Emory and Henry College (Va.) get out to a 3-0 start this year.
Scott Hill and Evan Williamson, both starters on the Wasps’ defense, both had standout performances Sept. 8 against Maryville in the Wasps’ 21-8 win.
Hill, a defensive end, had a fumble recovery, one sack, three pressures and five tackles. Williamson, an inside linebacker, had a scoop-and-score fumble for a touchdown and six tackles.
Hill then picked up five tackles and half a tackle-for-loss this past Saturday in Emory and Henry’s 34-20 win over Methodist. Williamson had two tackles.
Hill has 14 tackles this season through three games. Williamson has 10.
Hill was East Jackson’s starting outside linebacker on East Jackson’s 10-2 team in 2009, and Williamson was the Eagles’ starting quarterback.
Parker Wilson (a 2010 East Jackson graduate), an offensive guard, helped Emory and Henry pick up a 14-0 junior varsity win Sept. 9 over Ferrum.
Emory and Henry competes in Division III in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
