THE JEFFERSON volleyball team’s ultra-tough Area 6-AA schedule got rolling Tuesday night with the Dragons losing two of three matches at home.

Jefferson (15-6, 1-2) beat Rabun County 25-21, 25-15 but lost to no. 1 Wesleyan 25-16, 25-14 and no. 3 Greater Atlanta Christian 25-18, 15-25, 12-25.

Sarah Wood led Jefferson with 32 kills and three aces. Grace Williams had a 22-assist night with three aces and three kills. Other statistical leaders were Amanda Flowers (nine kills, two aces), Paige Watson (18 assists, one kill), Lindsey Nilsen (seven kills), Daniela Franco (six kills), Olivia Przybysz (one kill) and Avery Mixon (two aces).

Jefferson has home matches Thursday with Monroe Area and Johnson. The Lady Dragons will wear pink uniforms to bring awareness for breast cancer and will take donations at the gate.
