The Apalachee High School boys and girls cross country varsity team traveled to Clarkesville Saturday to participate in the Mountain Eagle Run at North Georgia Technical College.
“The course was much tougher than Athens Christian’s course,” said AHS cross country coach Alex Holmes. “It was very hilly and all grass. It was also a very humid day. I was very pleased with the effort by all of my runners.”
For the varsity boys, Nick Zvirbulis had the top time of 20:10, followed by Erick Dotson at 20:40, Stephen Sassano at 20:46, and Jared Burney at 21:06. Will Morgan ran with the junior varsity and placed first in the entire race. He also ended up having the best time of all of our boys team at 19:58.
Madison Rogan placed 19th overall in the varsity girls race with a time of 24:30.
