After a first half haunted with turnovers and penalties, the Tiger defense effectively shut down East Jackson, earning Commerce a 28-14 victory in the first match-up between these two teams.
East Jackson (0-2) opened strong, driving down the field on its opening drive and scoring on a pass from Austin Beauchamp to Casey Reed.
After a few possessions, Tiger halfback Quay Little broke loose on a long run to tie the game up 7-7.
