JACKSON County lost handily to Oconee County Thursday but left the gym happy with a victory over East Jackson that same evening.
The Panthers (1-3) dropped the first game against the Eagles 25-23 but rallied to win the final two 25-19 and 25-14.
“The girls played phenomenally in this match, correcting their mistakes to make a great comeback and end the night on a solid note,” Jackson County coach Holly Carsten said.
Leading the Panthers to the win were Jaycee Caylor (five digs, three blocks, two kills, one ace), Kelcie Zimmer (three digs, two aces, two digs, one block), Gabby Kastner (five aces), Kathryn Franklin (two kills, two digs), Haley Passmore (four digs) and Haley Nix (five aces, two digs).
Jackson County lost to Oconee County 25-10, 25-6 prior to that.
“They were a skilled team and we were not on the ball the way we should have been,” Carsten said.
Still, Carsten said Jackson County got strong efforts from Caylor (four kills and three digs), Zimmer (one ace, one dig), Kastner (one ace, two digs), Michelle McCoy (three digs), Nix (two digs) and Passmore (two digs).
