Knights face LCA for scrimmage

The Bethlehem Christian Academy football team will be able to gauge how far it has progressed during the preseason when it ventures to Loganville Christian Academy Friday.

The Knights and Lions will square off in a preseason scrimmage at 6 p.m., which will take place two weeks before the regular season opener for BCA.

“We are looking forward to it,” Knights coach Don Garmon said. “Last year we played the scrimmage similar to a real game. Towards the end we had some scripted things.”

Garmon said he expects the middle school players from both teams to also have a chance to participate at some point Friday night. Tim Hinton coaches the BCA Middle School program with help from Johnny Pence and Gene Price. All three will assist the varsity team on Friday nights.

“Practice has been going well,” Garmon said. “We added two more players to varsity and have even increased our numbers for the middle school program. The numbers may increase more now that the school year has started.”

The Knights will open the regular season Aug. 31 against Augusta Prep with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
