Knights begin preseason work for varsity play

The BCA Knights are set to take the field for a preseason scrimmage Aug. 17 at Loganville Christian Academy before opening its first full varsity campaign Aug. 31 against Augusta Prep.

Home games are currently played at the old Monroe Area High School Stadium in Walton County.

“We have a lot of plans for the future,” Garmon said. “We look to have our own stadium on campus. It just takes time. We are taking positive steps with our program and with our school. We just want people to know we are offering football.”

Recently hired offensive coordinator Lance Fendley was busy working with his players at Monday morning’s sessions. Nick Pou, who is the team’s defensive coordinator, was working with the team’s linemen.

Practice sessions will be held twice a day this week, Garmon said, as the team continues to prepare for the season opener.

“We are also looking forward to our scrimmage as that will let us know a good bit as to where we stand,” Garmon said. “The players are eager to get the season started.”
