THE JEFFERSON Sea Dragon swimming team is sending 29 representatives to the state meet after participating in this past weekend’s district meet at Habersham County.
Jefferson, with 1,472 points, finished third overall at district out of eight teams. Oconee County (2,158) won the title, followed by the Brad Akins YMCA Barracudas (1,920) who finished second. Jefferson won district last year.
Jefferson has two meets remaining before the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association’s July 20-21 state meet. The Sea Dragons have a dual meet today (Wednesday) with the Athens Dolphins and the North Georgia Swimming League championships Friday and Saturday.
