Coach Phillip Jones and his staff held a three-day football clinic for future Leopard football players last week. The 40 kids that participated learned skills crucial to the game.
Fundamentals were a big part of the coaching, both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. With help from the coaching staff and some key high school players the kids worked on blocking and tackling, how to carry the ball and punting and kicking skills.
"We are trying to teach them the love of football by letting them come out and play touch football for the last 30 to 45 minutes of the camp just for fun," said Coach Jones.
The coaching staff hopes the kids will continue to play and someday be a part of the high school team.
