Commerce Prepares For Final Region Game

After picking up a pair of region victories last week, the Commerce Lady Tigers will focus on winning their last three regular-season games, one of which is a region contest.

The Tigers were scheduled to play Banks County today (Wednesday) at home, host AAA Johnson on Thursday, then travel to Hebron Christian next Tuesday for the last game of the season.

While Banks and Johnson are not region games, coach Pam Canup said the ladies still regard both as very important, since Commerce is now looking for placement at sectionals. Both games will be at home and start at 5 p.m.

Tuesday’s away game at Hebron Christian Academy offers the ladies one final shot to add another win to the region column before sectionals. The Tigers play Hebron at 4:45 p.m.

Towns County
The Lady Tigers continued their recent winning streak with a 10-1 victory over Towns County.
Brooklynn Stinchomb fanned 11 batters, walked two and gave up only three hits. At the plate the Lady Tigers were productive, with CJ Wilkes going 4-for-4, scoring each time and driving in two runs. Brittany Beauchamp scored twice and drove in two. Bekah Andrews made contact once but drove in four runs.

Social Circle
Commerce was in a bad spot going into the sixth inning in Thursday’s game against Social Circle. The Lady Redskins had Commerce down 4-0.
The Lady Tigers rallied in the sixth, scoring three, then held the Indians in the bottom half of the inning before scoring three more runs in the top of the seventh to defeat the Lady Redskins 6-4.
