The Banks County High School Leopards football team got a taste of the grass Friday night as they put on a show for the annual spring scrimmage game. The team was divided into four sections and took the field.
The main players were on a blue or white offense and defense with the younger players making up a black defense or offensive team.
The whole team took the field for warm up time and completed drills in agility and speed. The clock was set for two 40-minute halves and the squads went to work.
The blue offense scored one touchdown early in the first half. Coach Phillip Jones rotated quarterbacks and squads throughout the half.
Quarterback Will Ledford sustained a hand injury and Tyler Hubbard took a hit to the left shoulder and they sat out in the second half of the game.
The game was shorten because of injuries and many players got in and played positions. Jake Schaefer and Daniel Jarrell impressed the coaches during the game.
The coaching staff encouraged the players to concentrate on their academics for the remaining school year and summer workouts would start on May 30 in the weight room.
