The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team has been in this position before.
Coach Brian Smith’s team has once again qualified for the state playoffs and will take what it hopes will be the first step toward a state championship Friday. The Bulldoggs will host Forsyth Central in a best-of-three series beginning with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday. The third game, if necessary, would also be at Charles W. Maddox Complex on Saturday.
Forsyth Central is the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAAA.
Grayson Ivey, shown competing against Loganville High School in the Region 8-AAAA title series last Thursday, will be one of the key players for the Winder-Barrow High School Diamond Doggs as they begin play in the state playoffs this week. WBHS will be at home for the first-round of the postseason. Photo by Jessica Brown
