Soccer: JCCHS girls lose in semifinals
JACKSON COUNTY lost 3-0 Monday to Dawson County in the Region 8-AA semifinals Monday, sending it to the third-fourth place game against Jefferson Tuesday.
“We played hard, but just got beat by a better team,” Jackson County coach Joe Ridgway said. “They were bigger and more physical. Dawson (County) deserved to win.”
The loss followed a 6-2 win April 17 over Fannin County in the opening round of the region tournament.
Golf: JCCHS girls’ season ends at region
THE JACKSON County girls’ golf team shot a 229 at the Region 8-AA tournament Monday as its season came to an end.
Haleigh McCullum led the Lady Panthers with a 114. Beth Bates and Jordan Garner both shot rounds of 115.
