Baseball: Jackson County tops non-region foe in make-up game

REMAKING a game from well over a month ago, Jackson County (11-8, 6-6) downed non-region foe Washington-Wilkes Monday night on the road.

Jesse Tallent (4-2) threw five and one-third innings in relief for the win, striking out six.

Hunter Poole, seeing his first action of the season, got the starting nod and worked on a strict pitch count. He threw an inning and two-thirds, allowing no hits and striking out two.

Andy Williams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run. Austin Robinson doubled and also scored a run. Quinn Grogan also had a base hit.
