The spring weather has agreed with the Apalachee High School golfers just fine.

The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats have enjoyed plenty of success on the links in 2012 with some school records also being broken.

The AHS teams recorded a sweep of Loganville High School last week at The Georgia Club as the Wildcats took a 163-188 win and the Lady Cats sent the Lady Devils home after winning 99-116.

For the boys, Joseph Morris fired a team best 38 while Cody Johnson finished with a strong round of 39. Doug Fussell added a round of 40 while Kolby Moore finished the course with a 46 to round out the official scores for the Wildcats.

In the girls match, Apalachee’s Shelby Hanna continued her all-star season with a round of 40, which was just one stroke off the school record she set against Winder-Barrow High School earlier this spring.

Hanna has been a standout for AHS and coach Kevin Morris since she began competing on the varsity team as a freshman.

Cammie Alfonso carded a 59 for the Lady Wildcats’ other top score.

AHS will return to the course Thursday when the teams hosts Collin Hill at The Georgia Club. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
