Golf: Dragons finish second at county tourney
ANDREW Thompson fired a career round of 37 Tuesday to lead Jefferson to a second-place finish at the county championships at Double Oaks. The Dragons shot a 172 as a team.
Others scoring were Daniel Kimmel (41), Blair Cain (44) and Eli Griffin (50).
“We are continually seeing our team scores drop,” Jefferson coach Tom Parker said. “I am again impressed with our boys’ work ethic. They enjoy playing with one another and seek out opportunities to play together as often as possible. They understand where we are this year.”
Parker noted the play of Griffin.
“Eli Griffin is doing a wonderful job of playing in our fourth spot, especially considering he has never played before,” he said.
