Graham holds school records for both the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. Graham was the region 7-AAAAA champion in the 300m hurdles this season and placed second in the region in the 110m hurdles. At state, Graham placed fifth in the 110m hurdles and seventh in the 300m. Graham was also honored as part of the 2008 Gwinnett track and field all-county team.
Mill Creek track coach Rik Moore said Graham had a very good senior year, setting two new school records this past season.
“He really came on strong his senior year,” Moore said. “He is a very young runner even though he is a senior. He is going to get a lot better in college. I think he’s found his niche.”
Graham said he is looking forward to attending Kennesaw State and hopes to continue to improve his performance times.
“I hope to run in the big meets with the varsity team and just improve overall,” he said.
Graham said he has enjoyed his time at Mill Creek and has learned a lot during his four years as part of the track team.
“It’s been great,” he said. “I wasn’t that great of a runner and I just worked at it over time - it’s been a lot of hard work.”
Graham’s advice to aspiring track stars: “When you start, you won’t be that great. Just keep working at it – it will pay off.”
