JEFFERSON built a 4-0 lead after two innings and held on for a 4-2 home win over Hart County Friday for its first subregion victory.
Tyler Cole led the Dragons (5-4, 1-1) at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a two-run double in the first inning. Andy Nicolas was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Andrew Bartek also drove in a run for the Dragons, who avenged a 5-0 loss to the Bulldogs Wednesday.
Hart County got on the scoreboard with a run in the fifth and another in the sixth.
Micah Carpenter pitched six innings for the win, allowing three hits, two runs (one earned) and two walks while striking out five.
Jacob Page pitched the seventh, allowing two hits and a walk.
