JACKSON COUNTY continues to play well in March.
Patrick Ventura scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Panther soccer team to a 2-1 subregion road win over Oglethorpe County.
Jackson County (4-5, 3-1) has won three of its last four games as it heads into a Friday game with non-region foe Winder-Barrow.
“We were able to persevere through a lackluster first half,” Jackson County coach Joseph Brubaker said. “We really improved our pace and energy during the second half. Our seniors did a great job of leading the way.”
At 3-1 in subregion play, Jackson County is second in the 8-AA South standings. Its only loss is to North Oconee. The Panthers lost to the Titans 8-1 Thursday.
Jackson County’s next three games are against non-region competition. The Panthers return to 8-AA South play against Jefferson (March 27) and close the regular season against 8-AA South foe East Jackson (March 29).
