Golf: Kimmel’s 43 leads Jefferson boys over East Jackson
DANIEL Kimmel shot a 43 Monday at Traditions of Braselton Golf Club to lead the Jefferson boys’ golf team to a 188-208 win over intra-county foe East Jackson.
Blair Cain and Andrew Thompson added rounds of 45 and Eli Griffin finished with a 55.
Nathan Crumley led East Jackson with a 48, followed by Austin Beauchamp (50), Spencer Davis (54) and Dylan Anderson (56).
The teams play again Thursday at Double Oaks.
Golf: Lady Dragons top East Jackson by 23 strokes
JEFFERSON’S Hanna Chapman shot a 51 and Anna Alexander added a 52 as the Lady Dragons picked up a 103-126 win Monday over East Jackson at Traditions of Braselton Golf Club.
The teams will square off again Thursday at Double Oaks.
Soccer: Elbert Co. shuts out JHS boys
THE JEFFERSON boys’ soccer team dropped its second subregion game of the year Monday with a 2-0 home loss to Elbert County.
The Dragons (2-4, 1-2) — who play East Jackson Friday — have now lost three-straight. All have been shutouts.
“We were able to pass the ball all over them but could not finish,” coach Jacob Marble said of the Elbert County game. “We took about 28 shots but kept missing even when the ball was in front of the goal.”

Boys’ track: Jefferson’s Hamrick wins pole vault at Loganville
JEFFERSON’S Mason Hamrick pole vaulted a 12-6 Saturday at the Loganville Running with the Devils Invitational to win that event, besting the field by six inches.
James Howard finished fourth in the pole vault (11-0) for the Dragons who placed 12th overall in the 14-team field with 23 points.
Girls’ track: Lady Dragons’ Stoudenmire takes second at Loganville
SPARKED by a second-place finish from Rebecca Stoudenmire in the pole vault (8-0), Jefferson finished 10th out of 14 teams at Saturday’s Running with the Devils Invitational at Loganville with 26 points.
Abby Carson (pole vault, 7-6) and Reese Bowles (3,200 meters, 12:25) added fourth-place finishes.

Tennis: Jefferson boys improve to 3-1
THE JEFFERSON boys’ tennis team improved to 3-1 Thursday with a 3-2 subregion win over Hart County on the road.
The Dragons (3-1, 3-1) got wins from Zach Bost (6-1, 6-0) at no. 1 singles, Gage Thompson (6-2, 6-1) at no. 2 singles and Austin Pratt and Jackson Howard (6-4, 7-6) in doubles.
Jordan Tyler host a heartbreaker at no. 3 singles (7-5, 2-6, 5-7). The doubles duo of Justin Harrison and Kody McDonald fell 6-3, 6-3.
Tennis: Lady Dragons suffer second subregion loss
THE JEFFERSON girls’ tennis squad dropped its second subregion match this spring, losing 3-2 on the road to Hart County.
Taylor Bost (6-1, 6-1) and Abi Muesse (7-5, 6-4) provided singles wins, but Charley Beatty dropped her match at no. 3 singles (6-3, 6-3) and the Lady Dragons were swept in doubles play.
Amanda Burgamy and Chelsea Runkel fell 7-5, 6-3 at no. 1 doubles and Grace Main and Olivia Yates dropped their no. 2 doubles match 6-3, 6-0.

Golf: Dragon golfers fall by four strokes
DANIEL Kimmel led Jefferson with a 47 Wednesday in the Jefferson boys’ 202-206 loss to West Hall at Royal Lakes.
Blair Cain and Andrew Thompson added rounds of 50. Eli Griffin shot a 51.
Golf: Lady Dragons topped by West Hall
THE JEFFERSON girls’ golf team lost 96-110 Wednesday at Royal Lakes.
Anna Alexander led the Lady Dragons with a 53. Hanna Chapman added a 57.
