Swimming: Local relay team takes fourth at state championships

The Athens Bulldog Swim Club 14-year-old girls’ 4 x 100-yard relay team finished fourth in the recent USA Swimming State Championships at the Georgia Tech Natatorium.

The team, which includes Jefferson’s Camille Porter, is made up by swimmers from Jefferson Middle School, Mill Creek High School, North Oconee High School and Oconee County High School.

Leading the group is Annie Williamson (Oconee County), who is ranked no. 49 in the nation in the 50 free in her age group. Williamson and Anna Rose Moore (North Oconee) both finished in the top five individually in the state in the 50 free finals.

The same relay team also finished sixth in the 4 x 50 free relay.
