Golf: Bryant leads JCCHS to win over Elbert Co.
RIVER Bryant fired a 36 Tuesday at Elberton Country Club to lead Jackson County (3-0) to a 160-175 victory over Elbert County.
Jared Scott added a 39 as the Panthers remain undefeated heading into a Wednesday match with East Jackson at Double Oaks Golf Club.
“This was a great team effort,” Jackson County coach Warren Standridge said. “I was very surprised and happy for our men.”
Golf: Lady Panthers fall to Elbert Co.
JACKSON County’s girls’ golf team fell 84-108 in its first nine-hole match of the year. Katie Fife led the Lady Panthers with a 52. Beth Bates added a 56.
“This would be the first nine holes that we have been able to play and gives us the opportunity to work on areas that need to be improved,” Jackson County coach Jeff Algard said.

Track: Panthers finish 10th at Eagle Invitational
At the Eagle Invitational Saturday, Layson Giles had the top performance for the Panthers with a third-place finish in the high jump (5-8). Jackson County finished 10th with 11 points.
The Panther 4 x 400 meter relay team (Yohan Reynolds, Brian Loftus, Craig Brown and Todd Woodring) also placed, finishing fifth (3:56.41) as did the 4 x 100 team (Reynolds, Keyshawn Curry, Dustin Scott and Brown, 46.12 seconds). Scott added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump.

Soccer: Ventura’s hat trick leads Panther rout of Hart
SPARKED by three goals from Patrick Ventura, the Jackson County boys’ soccer team enjoyed its biggest offensive night of the season Friday in a 9-0 win over visiting Hart County.
“Well, we finished very well and were able to maintain a pace of play that allowed for the opportunities,” Jackson County coach Joseph Brubaker said.
Others scoring were Phillip Burzo, Hector Razo, Alex Torres, Will Clark, J.P. Dinnerman and Logan Donald as Jackson County (2-4, 1-0) won its subregion opener.
“We needed a win and hopefully we will handle it well as we have three more subregion games in a week and a half,” Brubaker said.
Soccer: Lady Panthers continue to rack-up goals in trouncing of Hart Co.
COMING off a nine-goal performance against Banks County, the Jackson County girls' soccer team (5-1, 1-0) whipped Hart County 10-0 Friday to win its subregion opener.
The Lady Panthers have won four straight, outscoring their opponents 29-1 in that stretch.

Golf: Jackson Co. Panthers coast to 22-stroke win over Dawson Co.
LED BY Thomas Whitley’s 40, Jackson County (2-0) picked up a 172-194 win over Dawson County Thursday at Traditions of Braselton Golf Club.

“We are 2-0, and I feel good about the progress we are making,” Jackson County coach Warren Standridge said. “The men have really bought in to getting the most out of practices. They are working very hard on the range and putting green. Next week we will play Elbert, East Jackson and Stephens. We will know a lot more about ourselves after those matches.”
Golf: Jackson County girls lose to Dawson Co.
THE JACKSON County girls’ golf team fell to Dawson County 61-69 Thursday. Morgan Risley and Haleigh McCullum both scored for the Lady Panthers. Playing but not scoring were Beth Bates and Katie Fife.
