The Banks County High School Soccer teams traveled to Elbert County for a match last Thursday evening. The boys pulled out a 3-1 victory over the Elbert County Blue Devils and the girls a 4-1 victory.
The Leopards fell behind 1-0 early in the game and came back in the second half to regain control. Koewy Heu scored three goals and led the overall team effort to put the Leopards in the winning situation.
The JV Leopards won a match against Jefferson at home Friday night 4-2. the teams spread out the possession of he ball evenly but the speed of the Leopards team lead to the victory.
Angel Serrano, Ermain Corona, and Harris Day led the team with goals, and Dylon Bonilla's pressure led to an own goals against Jefferson.
The Lady Leopards game went into overtime then to penalty kicks.
"The girls did a great job against Elbert, they never gave up. They fought hard all the way to the last point," said Coach Lauren Calloway.
Jessie Mahan and Amber Warren both were key players in this game. Jessie being a defender never let a ball get past her and Amber had 12 saved goals."
This week the Leopards have three home game against teams that beat them last year. Soccer region games for the Leopards start the following week.
