Lady Tigers Go 1-1 On The Week

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to travel to Towns County on Tuesday to face the Lady Indians, who have lost twice to Commerce this year. Check the Commerce Tigers Scoreboard for Sept. 25 for score updates.
Up next for Commerce is another road trip on Thursday, this time to Social Circle. First pitch in that game is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.

Hebron

After winning their first three region games, the Lady Tigers faced Hebron Christian Academy last Tuesday, which was also undefeated in region play.

Unfortunately, the Tigers took the loss, 5-1.

“We just didn’t have our ‘A’ game,” said coach Pam Canup. “We missed some routine things that we shouldn’t have. That’s one of those things that happens sometimes.”

C.J. Wilkes, Brittney Beauchamp and Rebekah Andrews all had hits against Hebron.

Brooklynn Stinchcomb recorded the loss while striking out six and walking two batters from the mound.

Perfect At Johnson

As disappointing as the Hebron loss may have been, the Lady Tigers hit their stride a day later with a trip to Gainesville to face Johnson. It was no contest, as Commerce crushed the Lady Knights 11-0.

And if Stinchcomb had been disappointed in the Hebron contest, she made up for it at Johnson, tossing a perfect game in which she fanned 12 of 15 batters.

Wilkes, Beauchamp, Ashley Lord, Jessika Kyle and Haiden Nunn all had hits against Johnson.

Stinchcomb also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
