NINETEEN local basketball players were named to the All-8-AA South teams released this week.
The Jackson County girls were well represented with five players making the list, including two first-teamers — Danni Cunningham and Victoria Fontana. Katie Phillips, Mason Garland and Macey Latty were honorable mention selections.
Jared Scott was the Jackson County boys’ lone all 8-AA South representative, making the second team.
Two Jefferson boys were named to the All-8-AA South first team — Austin Thompson and Will Puckett. Andre Daniel was an honorable mention.
Skylar Evanson made all 8-AA South second team for the Jefferson girls, and Kellie Goza and Sarah Wood were honorable mention selections.
For East Jackson, Casey Reed was named to the All-8-AA South for the boys, and Nathan Crumley, Jarron Davis and Jake Grindle were honorable mentions.
Taylor Patrick, Kelsey Palette and Kayla Thomas made the girls’ All-8-AA South team as honorable mentions.
