The Commerce Parks and Recreation Department posted its schedule for youth baseball and softball evaluations, which happen this week on fields behind the department’s office at 204 Carson Street.
Evaluations are conducted to help coaches establish competitive balance.
Pee wee softball (ages 6-8) and pee wee baseball (ages 7-8) evaluations are set for 6–7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16; mite baseball (ages 9-10) and freshman softball (ages 11-12) take place 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17; freshman baseball (ages 11-12) is 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18; and sophomore baseball (ages 13-14) is 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.
There will be no evaluation for minor softball (ages 9-10) because there is only one team.
All baseball evaluations will be on Bambino Field and all softball evaluations will be held on Pardue Field.
