Ooley attends Nike Camp

Mill Creek High School’s Scott Ooley recently returned from the NIKE football camp in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

NIKE camp linebacker coach Chris Gizzi praised Ooley for his performance at this year’s camp.

"A surprise kid and a kid I want to make mention of was a kid named Scott Ooley. He was 6-foot, very unassuming, 210 pounds, but he was probably the best playmaker we had,” Gizzi said. “He was a leadership kind of guy, a real hustle kind of guy. If he was 6-foot-3, everyone would want him, everyone in the country.”

The NIKE Camp is open to elite high school players with college potential. Players are invited to attend based on coach recommendations, video highlights or NIKE combine performance.

Players are taught position specific drills designed by top NFL players and sports performance specialists.

Each year, approximately one in three camp attendees sign with a division I college. This past year, 47 percent of high school seniors who signed a football scholarship attended a NIKE camp.

Every one of the 117 division I college football programs currently has a NIKE alumni on the roster. There are currently over 150 NIKE camp alums in the NFL.
