•For the Atlanta Falcons: A return trip to the playoffs.
•For “major” college football: A long overdue playoff system.
•For Jerry Glanville: A team to coach in 2012.
•For those University of Georgia football “fans” who wanted head coach Mark Richt and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo run out of town: A clue and a life.
•For NBA coaching great Phil Jackson: A return to the bench.
•For Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III: One more season in Waco.
•For the BCS: A slow, painful death. Scratch that. A quick death. This montrosity needs to be put of its misery
.
•For the Georgia Southern football team: A return trip to the FCS playoffs in 2012.
•For my alma mater the University of West Georgia: A trip to the Division II football playoffs.
•For Carolina Panther quarterback Cam Newton: A long career in the NFL. This guy is fun to watch.
•For the Winder-Barrow High School football program: An end to its losing streak. Let’s get it over with in week one next fall.
•For the Apalachee High School football team: A return trip to the state playoffs.
•For the Apalachee High School Lady Wildcats: A first-ever trip to the state basketball tournament.
•For all of the local coaches: A thank you for the time you put in. The extra pay you get in return does not come close to equaling the hours, the complaints from parents, etc.
•For the Atlanta Hawks: The ability to reach the NBA finals or at least the Eastern Conference finals.
•For New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady: Many more successful years guiding my second-favorite NFL franchise.
•For Denver Broncos rookie Tim Tebow: The ability to continue inspiring all of us, even those with no athletic ability.
•For Tebow’s critics: A walk off a cliff.
•For the football teams at Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mt. Union: A rematch in the Division III title game for the eighth year in a row.
•For Bobby Cremins: A trip to the NCAA tournament with his College of Charleston team.
•For the University of Georgia basketball programs: A long overdue new building to compete in.
•For the Philadelphia Eagles: A loss in every game in which the criminal Michael Vick is used. This guy is still a disgrace and has no business earning millions of dollars for playing football.
•For Larry Munson: A sincere thanks for making football on the radio something to look forward to each Saturday afternoon in the fall.
Merry Christmas to all.
