JACKSON County catcher Madison Whitmire can add all-state honors to her growing list of accolades this year.
Whitmire was recently named first-team all state catcher for Class AA after a prolific offensive season during which she batted. 490, swatted 15 homeruns and drove home 44 runs. Whitmire also finished with nine doubles and seven triples and had a slugging percentage of .557.
She was a second-team all-state selection as a sophomore last year.
This is the most recent honor for the junior in the past few weeks. Whitmire was recently named Region 8-AA Player of the Year, as well as Region 8-AA first team catcher.
Whitmire helped lead Jackson County to a 25-8 season.
