In many ways it was a typical first game for the Apalachee High School Lady Wildcats Tuesday night.
There were some good things and some things which will need to be worked on but, all in all, coach Michael Parks was happy to start the new season with a victory. AHS defeated visiting East Jackson 59-50 despite playing without two starters.
“It’s better to start out winning than losing,” said Parks. “It was what you would expect for a first game. We were playing aggressively and committed a lot of fouls in the first half. It was the same way in our scrimmage game. We need to move our feet more on defense.”
Apalachee High School sophomore Tamaica Morrow, under the watchful eyes of coach Michael Parks, led the Lady Wildcats with 21 points Tuesday night in their season-opening win against East Jackson.
