Pirtle runs to best state finish in EJCHS history

Senior Cale Pirtle finished 11th at then Nov. 4 Class AA state meet in Carrollton with a 17:12, marking the best-ever placement and time at state in East Jackson history.

Pirtle qualified for state as an individual, placing fourth at the Oct. 27 Region 8-AA meet.

“As a coach I was extremely proud of how he ran his best race of his high school career at the state meet,” East Jackson coach Tomy Sitton said.

Pirtle was just eight seconds off his personal-record time of 17:04 which he set at the Oct. 20 Bob Roller Invitational at East Jackson.
