The Apalachee High School cross country teams will venture to region this week and see what happens.
“This year has been very challenging and we have not worked and competed to our potential,” said coach Billy Harrell. “The girls will not be able to qualify for state because we do not field enough runners. I hope for Shannon McConnell to finish top 15 and Kim Zahm top 40. The boys have underperformed all year, but finally had a great showing last week. Maybe we are peaking at the right time. I would love to finish in the top four to qualify for state, but realistically, I am hoping for a top six finish.”
