Jefferson broke Friday's game with Jackson County open with two big scores in the third quarter to build a 24-point lead en route to a 31-14 victory at Panther Stadium.
Bryant Shirreffs threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Will Puckett with 5:43 remaining in the third to put the Dragons up 24-7, and Andre Daniel — 13 seconds later — added a long fumble return for a touchdown as Jefferson took a commanding 31-7 lead and moved to 6-2 on the season.

Shirreffs finished 15-of-21 with 176 yards passing with touchdown passes to McKay Dickens and Puckett. Shirreffs also ran for an 11-yard score, while Asher Orr kicked a 27-yard field goal. The Dragons totaled 345 yards on the night.
Jackson County's Jalen Banks scored from six-yards out early in the contest to tie the game 7-7 in the first quarter, capping a carefully-engineered 12-play drive. Kyle Daniel provided the Panthers' other score with a one-yard plunge in the waning moments of the contest. Jackson County finished with 223 yards.
Jackson County trailed 14-7 after the first quarter and 17-7 at halftime.
