The Apalachee High School football team played perhaps its best game of 2011 but fell to visiting Clarke Central 37-28 at R. Harold Harrison Stadium Friday night.
The Wildcats (2-5 overall and in Region 8-AAAA) led 22-19 at halftime but could not find the answer to stop the Gladiator offense in the second half. The loss all but ends Apalachee's playoff chances for the season.
See Wednesday's print edition for a complete recap and preview of the upcoming homecoming game against Cedar Shoals.
