JEFFERSON fell 13-3 to Banks County Tuesday to bow out of the region tournament and finish the year 13-19.
The Dragons opened the region tournament Monday with a 12-5 loss to Banks County. Jordyn Whitfield went 3-for-4 with an RBI in that game, while Savannah Snapp went 2-for-3 and homered. Jefferson led 4-3 after six innings but Banks County erupted for nine runs in the top of the seventh.
The Dragons rebounded with a 9-0 drubbing of Elbert County later that day.
Fueled by a seven-run third inning ,Jefferson staved off elimination in the losers’ bracket with the win over the Blue Devils.
Offensive leaders were Snapp (2-for-2, 2 RBIs), Whitfield (2-for-3, RBI), Meagan Faulkner (2-for-3, RBI), Cason Anderson (2-for-3) and Lindsey Miles (1-for-4, 2 RBIs).
Snapp picked up the win from the pitcher’s circle.
