Softball: East Jackson edges Jefferson, 4-1

Rebecca Turner went 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer and also pitched two innings of scoreless relief as East Jackson (6-12-1, 4-6) beat Jefferson 4-1 at home Thursday.

East Jackson starting pitcher Taylor Nix threw five innings, allowing five hits and an earned run while striking out two in picking up the win.

Lindsey Miles went 2-for-3 from the plate to lead Jefferson (10-18, 7-3). Jordyn Whitfield drove in the Dragons’ lone run.
