Cross country: Pasko finishes third at East Jackson

RACHEL Pasko ran a season-best 20:18 at Saturday’s Eagle Run at East Jackson to lead the Jackson County girls to a fourth-place finish behind Athens Christian, West Hall and Dawson County. Pasko finished third individually.

Jackson County had two other runners finish in the top 12 — Syndey Baird (ninth, 21:07) and Maddie Newton (12th, 21:36).

Rounding out the scoring for Jackson County were Michayla Scollon (25th, 22:50) and Kourtney Axelburg (55th, 24:37).

In the boys’ race, J.T. Wood was the lone Panther to break the 20-minute mark, running a 19:31 to finish 48th. Other Jackson County runners placing were Bryce Hughes (63rd, 20:16), Tyler Henderson (65th, 20:20), Tyler Manculich (72nd, 20:56) and Zack Sears (75th, 21:14).
