THE JACKSON County volleyball team again added to its win total, picking up Thursday victories over Tallulah Falls and Athens Christian.
The Panthers (14-13, 2-2), who won 11 matches all of last year, beat Tallulha Falls in three sets (21-25, 25-9, 25-20) and downed Athens Christian in two sets (25-20, 25-16).
Leading Jackson County in kills and attacks were Rachel Smith with seven and Jasmine Williams and Jaycee Caylor, who each had five. Kelcie Zimmer finished with 19 assists on the night. Williams and Smith also had five aces each, while Williams finished with six digs.
Jackson County, however, fell to East Jackson on Tuesday night, 25-16, 21-25, 26-24, and Hart County 25-20, 25-18.
The Panthers picked up win no. 12 earlier this week with a 25-17, 25-15 win over Salem Tuesday night. Jackson County also played Loganville the same evening and lost 14-25, 25-23, and 16-25.
Leading the Panthers were Williams (12 attacks), Smith (nine attacks, five digs), Caylor (seven aces) and Kelcie Zimmer (five aces, 29 assists).
