Softball: Jackson County tops Jefferson in another close one

Jackson County beat Jefferson 2-1 Thursday in Jefferson to sweep the regular season series from the rival Dragons and move to 5-1 in subregion play.

Jackson County won the first matchup 8-7 back on Aug. 16.

The Panthers (9-3, 5-1) got a three-hitter from pitcher Kortnee Satterfield, who surrendered no walks and struck out two in earning the win. Click here for game photos.

Alyssa Dasher (1-for-3, double, run), Madison Whitmire (1-of-2, run) and Mason Garland (1-for-3, RBI) sparked Jackson County at the plate.

Jordyn Whitfield (1-for-3, RBI) led Jefferson offensively, blasting a solo homerun in the fourth inning to left centerfield.

Savannah Snapp pitched a complete game for the Dragons, surrendering four hits two runs (one earned) and one walk while striking out two.
