Jackson County fell 37-0 at Walnut Grove Friday on a sparse offensive night.
The Panthers (1-1), who beat Walnut Grove 21-3 last year, were held to -4 yards on the ground and just 33 total yards in their first loss of the year.
Walnut Grove, playing its third year of football and first under new coach O.J. Soto, led 12-0 at the half and then broke the game open with 18 points in the third quarter.
Jackson County's Xavier Harper had the biggest night offensively, catching two passes for 33 yards. That includes grabbing a 21-yard pass from Kyle Daniel, the longest play from scrimmage from the Panthers.
Daniel finished 5-of-12 for 37 yards.
The Panthers finally return home next week, facing Fannin County in Region 8-AA cross-over play.
