The Madison County High School softball team has upped its record to 3-1 as it tries to run the table in the remainder of its subregion schedule.
The Raiders have six subregion games remaining, including a crucial rematch with Apalachee Sept. 18, as they currently trail the Wildcats in the division standings.
“That would be what we need to do,” head coach Doug Kesler said of winning-out. “We need to challenge ourselves to go out and do that.”
The Raiders, who won three games over the weekend at the Shaw Invitational, made easy work of Clarke Central, winning 15-0 in three innings Tuesday.
Madison County now faces Winder-Barrow today in its Patriots’ Day matchup with the Bulldoggs. The team plans a ceremony in recognition of the Sept. 11 attacks of seven years ago.
