The 2011 Banks County High School Lady Leopards softball team is set for a new season of competition in Region 8-AA.
BCHS will compete with Dawson County, Fannin County, Rabun County, Union County and East Hall High School in the region.
The Lady Leopards are coming off a14-12 season in 2010 with a region mark of 5-5. Union County had a overall record of 32-4-1 and a region record of 11-0, which put it at the top of the region standings.
Fannin County had a overall record of 15-12 and a region record of 7-3. Dawson County had a overall record of 14-15-1 and a region record of 6-5.
Rabun County finished with a overall record of 1-10 and a region record of 0-8. East Hall had a overall record of 0-17 and a region record of 0-8.
Dean Goodwin has an overall winning mark of 39-24 and a region record of 13-7 coaching the BCHS softball team. The Lady Leopards have been preparing for the upcoming season with a plenty of batting practice, Goodwin said, both on the field with pitching machines and in the cages on the set up tee.
The 2011 home opener is scheduled for August 25 at BCHS softball field against Union County at 5:55 p.m.
